US DMFCC has signed an agreement with Korean SMCG to jointly design and manufacture fuel cell cartridges. Under the agreement, DMFCC will backup SMCG with necessary technology while SMCG will take charge of manufacturing methanol fuel cartridges. SMCG expects to develop three types of fuel cell cartridges in 2005 with plans to demonstrate them at a fuel cell exhibition in Japan in early 2006, after which mass production will start in late 2006.
